Electrical Installation Assessor (Full Training Provided)

Slough

£37,000 - £40,000 + Local Government Pension + Full Training + 30 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Christmas Closure

Are you an experienced Electrician or Electrical Installation professional looking to move into training and assessment?

Do you want to step away from full-time tools and into a rewarding role where you can support apprentices, manage your own caseload, and build a long-term career within education?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established College, supporting Electrical Installation apprentices through their NVQ journey. With a flexible working pattern split between site visits, remote working, and limited office time, this role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact on future electricians.

As an Electrical Installation Assessor, you'll assess apprentices in the workplace, support them with evidence gathering, complete progress reviews, and help ensure learners stay on track to successfully achieve their qualifications. You'll spend the majority of your time out on site with apprentices, with a maximum of 1-2 days per week in the office.

The ideal candidate will have strong Electrical Installation industry experience, an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, and 18th Edition. An assessing qualification would be highly desirable, although full training and development can be provided for the right candidate. You'll be confident working independently, communicating with apprentices and employers, and supporting learners throughout their apprenticeship.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical professional to transition into training, gain assessor qualifications, and develop a long-term career within education.

The role:

*Assess Electrical Installation apprentices working towards their NVQ.
*Carry out workplace/site-based assessments.
*Support apprentices with evidence gathering and qualification progress.
*Work closely with apprentices, employers, and internal college teams.
*Maximum 1-2 days per week in the office, with the rest spent on site or remotely.
*Monday to Friday role.
*Full training and development provided.
*Local Government Pension Scheme.
*30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure.

The person:

*Electrical Installation background essential.
*NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation required.
*18th Edition required.
*Assessing qualification desirable but not essential.
*Confident supporting and assessing apprentices.
*Strong communication and organisational skills.
*Able to work independently across a remote/site-based role.
*Must live within a commutable distance of Slough.
*Keen to pursue a long-term career in training and assessment.
