Electrical Inspector (Contract)

Our client, a respected organisation within the Defence and Security industry, is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Inspector on a contract basis. This role plays a critical part in verifying that electrical products and assemblies meet established quality, technical, dimensional, and workmanship standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and documenting any non-conformances in line with company quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical inspection activities to ensure all products meet the required quality standards before release.
Perform both in-line and roving inspections, confirming compliance of electrical assemblies against specifications and documented requirements.
Support investigations into quality issues by contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with production teams to help maintain high levels of workmanship and product quality.
Participate in manufacturing and production meetings, providing quality-related input where required.
Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure customer expectations and contractual requirements are achieved.
Promote efficient manufacturing practices while maintaining strict quality standards.
Inspect components, cable assemblies, electrical assemblies, and finished products throughout the production process.
Conduct pre-closure inspections, verifying conformance to engineering specifications and workmanship criteria.
Accurately record non-conformance reports and update inspection data within the company's MRP system.

Essential Skills and Experience

Proven background in inspection activities.
Strong understanding of PCBs, electronics, cable assemblies, and electrical manufacturing processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, wiring schedules, schematics, and circuit diagrams.
Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, with trainer-level qualifications considered advantageous.
