Description:

To assist with industrial electrical installation works on the MOD Cornwall Street, Morgans Project under the direction of qualified electricians and site supervision. The role involves supporting the installation of electrical systems while working safely, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and contributing to the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Assist qualified electricians with industrial electrical installation activities.
Install electrical containment systems including tray, basket, trunking, conduit, and cable ladder under supervision.
Assist with the installation, dressing, and routing of power, lighting, and control cables.
Support the installation of electrical equipment including distribution boards, switchgear, control panels, lighting, and associated accessories.
Read and work from electrical drawings and installation specifications with guidance where required.
Use electrical hand tools and equipment safely and correctly.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), project specifications, and company procedures.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping across the work area.
Report any defects, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor.
Attend toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety meetings.
Work effectively with electricians, supervisors, and other site trades to support project delivery.
Complete allocated tasks within agreed timescales while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Essential Requirements

Valid ECS Electrical Labourer/Improver Card.
Relevant electrical installation qualification (Level 2 or working towards Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation).
Previous experience working on commercial or industrial electrical installation projects.
Basic understanding of electrical drawings and installation methods.
Good knowledge of construction site health and safety practices.
Ability to work safely as part of a team and follow instructions.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning and development.

Desirable Qualifications

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or currently working towards).
IPAF Licence.
PASMA Certification.
Manual Handling Training.
Asbestos Awareness Training.
Security clearance or the ability to obtain MOD site clearance.

Health, Safety & Security

Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and site-specific rules.
Wear and maintain the required PPE at all times.
Follow all risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work.
Report hazards, near misses, accidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Comply with all MOD security procedures and site access requirements.
