Job Title: Electrical Estimator

Position Overview: They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Estimator to join the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical projects across multiple sectors. From initial bid preparation to project completion, the Electrical Estimator will work closely with our project management and engineering teams to ensure the profitability and success of each project.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Evaluation: Assess project requirements, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of electrical work involved.

2. Cost Estimation: Utilize industry-standard software and methodologies to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

3. Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals in response to client invitations to tender.

4. Vendor/Subcontractor Management: Source and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.

5. Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options without compromising quality or client requirements.

6. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.

7. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between project estimates and execution plans.

8. Client Interaction: Engage with clients during the bid process to clarify project requirements and address any queries or concerns.

9. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, cost factors, and best practices in electrical estimating to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

10. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project estimates, correspondence, and relevant documentation.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the MEP or construction industry.

2. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.

3. Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, Trimble, or equivalent.

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

7. Strong organizational and time management skills.

8. Familiarity with project management principles and practices is advantageous.

9. Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator - CPE) are a plus
