Electrical Engineer

Cambridge (Hybrid)

Our client is a well-established international engineering organisation with nearly 30 years of experience delivering specialist engineering solutions across the UK, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. Working across sectors including energy, industrial, infrastructure, telecommunications and construction, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative and cost-effective engineering services.

With continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team by appointing an Electrical Engineer to support the successful delivery of a wide range of technically challenging projects.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of electrical engineering solutions from concept through to commissioning. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on varied engineering projects while developing your technical expertise within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical engineering solutions for a range of industrial and infrastructure projects.
Produce electrical calculations, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
Create and review single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules and electrical layouts.
Support the design and specification of LV electrical distribution, control systems and associated equipment.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
Participate in technical reviews, project meetings and design verification activities.
Provide engineering support throughout procurement, installation, testing and commissioning phases.
Collaborate with internal engineering teams, suppliers and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovative engineering solutions.
Assist with technical problem-solving and fault investigation where required.About You

A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering.
Previous experience in an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer role.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and relevant British and international standards.
Experience producing technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar design software would be advantageous.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.
