Electrical Engineer Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art data centre. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in industrial and commercial electrical engineering, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience. The role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the electrical systems that support our data centre operations.
Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities
* Electrical System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and testing of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
* Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining system reliability.
* Installation and Upgrades: Oversee the installation of new electrical systems and the upgrading of existing systems to meet evolving needs.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Promote a culture of safety and enforce safety protocols.
* Project Management: Lead and participate in electrical engineering projects from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, and coordination with other teams.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all electrical work, including schematics, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines, operations teams, and external contractors to ensure integrated and efficient data centre operations.
Electrical Engineer Qualifications and Skills
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in industrial and commercial settings.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, backup power, UPS systems, and grounding.
* Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
* Soft Skills:
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements
* Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces as necessary.
* Availability: Must be available for on-call duties and occasional overtime as needed to address urgent issues
