Description:
Electrical Design Engineer
Permanent | Office-based
I’m working with a well-established, close-knit building services design consultancy in East Surrey. They’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
This role is for a hands-on designer. You’ll be involved in real, varied design work from concept to completion, not managing huge overseas megaprojects. Their projects cover offices (speculative and fit-out), hotels, education, residential, retail, restaurants and light industrial.
What you’ll be doing
* Electrical services design across RIBA stages: lighting, small power, containment, LV distribution, fire alarm and security systems
* Cable calculations in ElectricalOM and lighting calculations in Dialux
* Producing LV schematics, DB schedules and layouts
* Working directly with architects, clients and contractors
* Working closely with the directors, with real visibility and room to grow
What they’re looking for
* At least 2 years of UK building services electrical design experience (graduate +2 and above, all levels considered)
* A solid grounding in general building services design
* Working knowledge of ElectricalOM and Dialux, plus AutoCAD
* Good understanding of BS 7671 and relevant UK standards
* A relevant degree or HNC/HND in electrical or building services engineering
* Able to commute to East Surrey. The team is office-based, with 1 day from home.
What’s on offer
* Salary dependant on experience
* Pension / holiday / bonus / CPD and chartership support
* A small, friendly team with direct access to senior engineers
* A varied mix of projects, without the big-firm bureaucracy
* A local office with no London commute
