Electrical Design Engineer – Senior to Associate level
Cambridge or Kent
£55,000 – £80,000
An established building services consultancy is looking to appoint two Electrical Design Engineers, with opportunities available at Senior, Principal or Associate level, to support its continued growth across its Cambridge and Kent offices.
Working across a varied portfolio of projects, including commercial, residential, research and development, and office fit-out schemes, this is an opportunity to join a well-established SME where engineers can make a genuine impact, take ownership of their work and develop their careers alongside the business.
The ideal candidates will be confident electrical design engineers who can hit the ground running, thrive in a fast-paced consultancy environment and bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
The Role
Delivering electrical building services design across a range of projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and completion.
The role will be a blend of technical design work and managerial responsibilities
Producing electrical calculations, specifications, technical reports and design documentation.
Working closely with mechanical engineers, clients, architects, contractors and other project stakeholders.
Ensuring designs meet relevant UK regulations, industry standards and project requirements.
Taking ownership of technical delivery, coordinating design information and resolving engineering challenges.
Carrying out lighting design and calculations using Dialux.
Using Amtech for electrical design calculations and associated technical work.
Supporting project delivery, with opportunities to lead projects, mentor junior engineers and contribute to wider team development at more senior levels.About You
Experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
The ability to manage your workload effectively and deliver quality designs in a fast-paced setting.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services systems, standards and regulations.
A proactive mindset, strong communication skills and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
A genuine ambition to progress, develop professionally and contribute to the long-term success of a growing business.Candidates at Senior through to Associate level will be considered, with responsibilities and expectations tailored to experience.
