Electrical Design Engineer (LV SWITCHGEAR & PANEL BOARDS) - Berkshire, UK

A new vacancy for an Electrical Design Engineer with new fast-growing division of leading UK electrical solutions provider.

We are looking for a highly motivated, practical and proactive engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware. A suitable engineering qualification is required, HNC or better, together with the relevant experience required to deliver in a demanding environment with short delivery times.

We are looking for a LV switchgear and panel boards Electrical Design Engineer who can develop and draft electrical CAD drawings and panel layouts from scratch, assist with project documentation, production and assembly stages.

The right candidate must have considerable experience in a similar role, being capable of working unsupervised and confidently across a wide range of equipment ranging from low power instrumentation to LV electrical distribution systems.

Key requirements:

Proven prior experience working in a 'Design Engineer' capacity, covering Electrical LV distribution boards, control and instrumentation
Ability in being able to come up with designs and take the lead on calculations
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Electrical or similar software (LV sector)
Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and project team members to deliver cost effective and acceptable design solutions
Microsoft Office experience is essential including Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint etc.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly
Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material
An aptitude and willingness to learn new skills, technologies and methodologies
Must be able to work as part of a team
Self-motivating and capable of independent working
Work to a project plan and deliver projects on time
