Job Overview:
Our client are seeking a Junior Design Engineer to assist the Design Engineer and team in developing electrical power systems and infrastructure. Your role will be crucial to the success of our projects and delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in designing electrical systems and components.
* Collaborate on surveying, design, system integration, testing, and commissioning.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation.
* Use CAD software for electrical and civil designs.
* Update project programs and budget trackers.
* Support technical reports and presentations.
* Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
* Prepare work schedules, allocate resources, and supervise sub-contractors.
* Ensure all work adheres to safety, quality, technical, and commercial standards.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in the UK.
* Experience in a multi-disciplinary design and production environment.
* Understanding of design engineering in railway, renewable energy, or transmission & distribution sectors.
* Ability to support in quoting new works using estimating software.
* Willingness to support project H&S processes and documentation.
* Self-reliant, resourceful, and proactive.
* Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
