Electrical Design Engineer - Renewable Energy & District Heating

North West England

£35,000 - £50,000 DOE + Development Plan + Advanced Training Scheme + Company Pension + 33 Days Holiday + Holiday Purchase Options + Flexible Hours

Are you a qualified Electrical Design Engineer that is looking to significantly advance your career by joining a leading Renewable Energy business that can offer specialist training and a structured development plan to take you to Principal Engineer status whilst becoming Chartered?

This company has hundreds of employees spread across the UK and have established themselves as a leading EPC business within the Renewable Energy and Sustainability sectors, with projects covering things such as District Heating schemes as well as commercial and industrial-scale Solar PV and Heat Pump installations. Off the back of a significant amount of investment in recent months, they are looking to continue growing to solidify their already strong position in the industry.

In this role you will be playing a leading role in the delivery of major District Heating and other Renewable Energy projects for both public and private sector clients through the production of electrical designs and schematics as well as carrying out calculations and equipment selection for projects.

The ideal candidate will be educated to at least HND/HND level in Electrical Engineering and will have some relevant post-qualification design experience in things such as HVAC, Power Generation, Power Transmission, Heating, Building Services or similar.

The Role:
* Producing electrical diagrams, drawings and calculations for major Renewable Energy projects
* Reviewing client requirements and inputting into relevant equipment selection
* Supporting with business development, bid and tender activities
* Reviewing costs and cost implications, lifecycle cost analysis etc.
* Assessing and interpreting client requirements
* Ensuring projects are carried out in line with specifications and regulations

The Person:
* Educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in Electrical Engineering
* Previous experience in relevant discipline e.g Heating, HVAC, Power Infrastructure, Renewables etc
* Experience with Trimble MEP software (advantageous)
* Strong understanding of wiring regulations
