Description:
Due to an increasing workload, Webster Griffin Limited is recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy Technical Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of developing new ideas from concept through production.
Electrical Design Engineer - Key duties will include:
* Designing products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to the company’s production schedule.
* Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use your own initiative to achieve the project requirements
* Electrical schematic diagrams and layout design.
* Generate detailed technical documentation (BOMs, manuals, P&ID’s etc.)
* Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs
* Reduce product costs by re-designing existing products
* Assist production/service engineers when requested
* Collaborate fully with production engineering on new projects ensuring all parts are ordered and delivered on time.
* Produce ECNs for design updates or changes
Electrical Design Engineer - Qualifications/Skills:
Educated to Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline, and along with a strong electrical design background, the successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;
* Working industry knowledge of Solidworks Electrical 2D
* Working industry knowledge of automated packaging systems
* Ability to fault find on electrical systems
* Electronic design of printed circuit boards down to component level
* Understanding & knowledge of PLC & microprocessors-based control systems
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with the following desirable skills and experience:
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD LT and/or Draftsight
* Working to codes & standards like EN61010, BSEN 60204, Electrical Safety Standards, EMC Directive
* Pipe work assemblies & pneumatic assemblies
Electrical Design Engineer - Benefits:
Hours of work are 37.5 per week and the role offers a competitive basic salary along with benefits including 20 days holiday entitlement to start with increasing to 25 days over a set period. (Excluding Bank Holidays). Company Pension Scheme
