Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services (Manchester)

About the Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established Building Services consultancy with a highly respected MEP team of around 30 engineers based in Manchester. The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the North West and continues to grow year-on-year. Operating with a lean management structure, the consultancy offers genuine opportunities for career progression, increased responsibility and ongoing professional development. Around 70% of its workload is within the healthcare sector, complemented by residential and commercial projects, giving engineers the opportunity to work on technically challenging schemes that make a real difference while remaining predominantly local.

The Role

This is a design-led position suited to an Electrical Design Engineer with around 3-4 years' UK Building Services consultancy experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects while working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

* Produce electrical building services designs from concept through to detailed design.

* Design internal electrical building services systems for a range of projects.

* Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings.

* Attend project meetings and provide technical design updates to clients via Teams and occasional face-to-face meetings.

* Work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Revit/CAD technicians and the wider design team.

* Take ownership of your own workload and manage project deadlines.

* Undertake occasional site visits to verify surveys, measurements and design information.

* Ensure designs comply with current UK regulations and industry standards.

* Contribute to delivering technically robust, practical and high-quality engineering solutions.

About You

* Around 3-4 years' UK Building Services consultancy experience in Electrical Design.

* Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant design standards.

* Experience working on UK building services projects within any sector.

* Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.

* Good communication skills and confidence speaking with clients.

* Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple projects.

* Full right to work in the UK.
