Astute's EPC Power team is partnering with a leading EPC Contractor within the UK Power Industry to recruit 2x Electrical Commissioning Engineer on an 6 month contract basis across 2 projects in the UK. One project is based in Aberdare (South Wales), and Eye (Suffolk).

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer role comes with a day rate of £450.00 to £500.00 per day.

Key skills and responsibilities:
Leading and executing electrical commissioning activities for a gas power project in UK, until successful handover to the customer. The scope of activities will be: Experienced with NG TP106 Process Framework thereby ensuring commissioning is conducted with a level of governance and associated audit trail.
Hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as, transformers, medium/low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, motorized valves, instruments etc. Fully competent at using Primary & Secondary Injection test set equipment.
Carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols
Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.
Managing and leading the team of LV/MV/HV electrical engineers, electrical supervisors, technicians, etc. Participate in the Plan of the Day meeting daily providing resourceful inputs on the work progress.
Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.
Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors
Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.
Report to the Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer and the Commissioning Manager on each specific site.
At least 7 years working experience in power stations Electrical (MV/LV and I&C) Commissioning activities with demonstrable experience in a leading role in projects of similar relevance.
BEng /HND in Electrical engineering
Strong team spirit, working with an international team and other cultures.
Excellent communication skills
Ideal project experience working within CCGT, OCGT, Energy from Waste, or Nuclear energy.
