Full-Time 
Birmingham  - Washwood Heath 
£83 - £85 Per Day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role 

Are you a professional with experience in education, residential or healthcare settings seeking a new role? 

A School within Birmingham is looking for Support Workers to help students achieve their academic, social and wellbeing goals. The setting caters for students aged between 14 – 25, with a primary need for Autism, they have an additional specialist unit who caters for students with Down Syndrome and Complex Needs. Students are taught at a small group and 1-1 level. Students' curriculum is tailored toacademic strengths and career goals.  

Within the role you will be responsible for the 1-1 support and development of your key student, you will help monitor and achieve their academic, social and wellbeing goals against their Individual Support Plan.You will do this by taking guidance from the teacher and wider support staff, implementing strategies to support students learning. In addition, to supporting students' academic success, you will be supporting their Social, emotional and mental health. Some students have physical needs, and this may mean they need support with personal care and manual handling.  

The desired Education Support Worker will possess: 

Experience of working with children and adults who have Special Educational Needs.  

A DBS Check, or readiness to undergo a DBS check. 

Active Listening Skills.  

A proactive approach to work with students.  

Trauma Informaed Practice skills are desired.  

You must have experience and be comfortable with Personal Care.  

You must be able to manage challenging behaviors within the classroom.
