This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and young people and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives. You will be working as part of a supportive classroom team, helping students engage with learning, develop their independence and take part in a wide range of activities.
The Role
As an Education Support Worker, you will:
* Support students with their learning and development both in and outside the classroom
* Work closely with teachers and other members of the wider support team
* Help students develop communication, social and life skills
* Support students with personal care and medical needs where relevant
* Encourage students to become more independent and confident
* Provide individual support where required, adapting your approach to each student's needs
* Assist with practical, creative, physical and enrichment activities
* Build positive and trusting relationships with students
* Follow individual support plans and school procedures
* Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, so the role would suit someone who is patient, resilient, compassionate and willing to learn.
About You
Previous experience working in a school, care, support or SEN environment would be beneficial, but it is not essential. We are also keen to hear from people with experience in areas such as:
* Teaching or classroom support
* Youth work
* Care or support work
* Health and social care
* Sports or activity-based roles
* Psychology or education
* Working with children or young people
Most importantly, you will need to be approachable, reliable and genuinely motivated to help young people make progress.
What We Offer
* £14.24 per hour
* 32.5 hours per week, term time only
* Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:45pm
* A supportive specialist school environment
* Full training and ongoing support
* Opportunity to develop valuable experience within SEN education
* Temp-to-perm opportunity
* Support from a dedicated consultant at Advantage Education
If you're looking for a role where no two days are quite the same and where the work you do can have a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you
