As an Economist, you will monitor, analyse, report and advise on economic, fiscal and market developments affecting the automotive industry in the UK and globally. You will also develop robust data sets, economic intelligence, analysis and arguments that inform policy positions, communication and member services on all key automotive issues within the economic, industrial and taxation agenda.

In your first few weeks in this economic analyst role, you can expect to:

Research and analyse key economic, sector and transport data and statistics
Monitor, evaluate and brief on key research reports on the economic agendas
Maintain appropriate data management processes (data capture, reporting & analysis)
Support strategic development of SMMT economic data sets and their use
Provide data and analytical input to policy development and political communication.
To apply for this Economist role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

Experience in applied economics and research, familiar with key sources of economic intelligence
Experience in economic policy work and ability to write and present policy-influencing documents, positions and reports
Excellent numerical, analytical and reporting skills
Competency in the use of information and communication technology, competent in data capture and management.
