Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire
Rate: £38.17 per hour CIS + Overtime Available
Duration: Long-term contract (18 months minimum)

Start date: Immediate start
Hours: 40–60 hours per week

We’re recruiting experienced Electrical and EC&I Technicians to support a major programme of works at a high-security nuclear facility in Aldermaston, Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on a technically challenging project with consistent hours and the potential for significant overtime.

Working within a highly regulated environment, you’ll be part of a skilled team delivering installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning activities across a range of electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Install, modify and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Carry out testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical systems.
Perform loop checks and functional testing of field devices.
Install, gland and terminate power, control and instrumentation cables.
Calibrate instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, level and flow devices.
Diagnose electrical faults and assist with system rectification.
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and technical drawings.
Support maintenance, shutdown and decommissioning activities where required.
Complete all work in accordance with site procedures, quality standards and safe systems of work.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you’ll have:

A recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent industry qualification.
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Engineering or a related discipline.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Experience working on industrial, energy, process, manufacturing or other safety-critical sites.
Knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, testing and maintenance.
Experience with control systems, PLCs, SCADA, motors, panel wiring or instrumentation would be highly advantageous.
Testing and Inspection qualifications (2391/2395) are beneficial but not essential.
Previous experience within the nuclear sector is welcomed, although candidates from other heavy industrial or highly regulated environments will also be considered.

Due to the nature of the project, successful applicants will be required to undergo security clearance. Eligibility to obtain the appropriate clearance is essential.
