Description:
Our client, a leading energy waste to energy & biomass company are looking for a talent EC & I Technician (Electrical Control and Instrumentation to join them on a permanent basis at their plant in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Core Tasks, Responsibilities & Duties
• Undertaking / assisting in plant developments & projects
• Maintenance, calibration, and fault finding on electrical equipment and instrumentation at the operating asset.
• Working to assure accurate maintenance records, and comprehensive asset data information.
• Participate in project support when required, leading commissioning activities and ensuring all of the required engineering documentation exists.
• Assist with outage planning, scheduling, and generation of any preparatory works as required.
• Proactively report equipment defects and suggest remediation and improvement plans.
• Liaising with and supervising external vendors on specific repairs / maintenance, including some weekend working.
• Become an integral part of the Asset Maintenance Team, routinely liaising with other areas of the business to effectively maximise the asset availability and utilisation.
• Share knowledge with other operating assets. • Working with engineering drawings, P&ID’s.
• To plan and carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with zero unplanned down time, along with other Maintenance tasks as instructed.
• Assist with ensuring all maintenance equipment is regularly checked and is complaint with HSE regulations and that any defects are reported.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the workshop and the rest of the facility
Requirements:
• Existing right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel (Within UK)
• Recognised engineering qualification at ONC/City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 Electrical qualifications (or equivalent experience)
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of E, C & I systems, including VSD’s, distribution and various instrumentation.
• Involvement in plant mobilisation and commissioning is desirable but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legal requirements.
• Demonstrable experience working with Permit-to-Work systems
• IT literate and able to use Microsoft package as well as bespoke software (experience of MAXIMO or similar)
