EAL Teaching Assistant

Location: Newport.

Pay Rate: from £83 per day.

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm.

Start Date: 20th May 2024.

Teaching Personnel is looking for an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students learning English as a second language and will provide support to ensure their academic success. The role will involve working with students between the ages of 11-16.

We encourage you to apply if you have a background working within care sector, an avid sportsperson or previously worked with children. Training will be provided as you learn.

Key Responsibilities

Support EAL students in improving their English language proficiency.
Provide individualized assistance based on students' specific needs.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate language support into the curriculum.
Monitor and assess student progress in language acquisition.
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for EAL students.
Experience

Bilingual, with the ability to speak Romanian being a plus.
Previous experience working with EAL students is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of EAL learners.
Requirements

Enhanced Childs DBS and Update Service
EWC Registration
Able to provide 2 references.
Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
