As the e-Module Assembly Leading Hand your purpose will be to support the set-up of all manufacturing processes including trouble-shooting and preventative maintenance. * Become familiar with e-Motor fundamentals and specifics regarding new production variants, some of this will be achieved though working closely with my clients JV technical partner including prototype build and test.
* Contribute to process definition, Process FMEA workshops and evaluate or execute resulting outcomes.
* From process cycle times and demand patterns, help establish manning requirements and technician competence levels to support recruitment and on-boarding of a capable production team.
* Ensure that new starters are trained and assessed by operation and maintain training records and competence assessments.
* Participate in work-station risk assessments in order that the new and future e-Motor production facilities provide a safe and healthful environment, and all necessary measure, PPE and emergency measures are in place.
* Fully support manufacturing engineering during the production equipment procurement phase of this project. This would include factory acceptance testing and trials, installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing.
* Maintain and present Key Performance Indicators relevant to this role on a periodic basis, typically these will include Customer Schedule Adherence, Right First Time Quality, Housekeeping, Time, and Attendance.
Key skills and experience required for this e-Module Assembly Leading Hand role will ideally include:
* Higher Education Qualification (for example BTEC or HNC) in an Engineering Discipline – preferably specialising in manufacturing or aspects of electric motor technologies.
* At least three years’ experience working in electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Knowledge and experience of (some of these) core manufacturing processes would be beneficial, including Coil Winding, Induction Heating, Copper to Copper joining, Bonded Assemblies, Pressed Assemblies, Resin Encapsulation, In-line electrical testing.
* Proven track record in supervising a small team of skilled or semi-skilled technicians.
* Good inter-personal skills to liaise with engineers and management and to support the production team.
* Experience of participating in and applying pFMEA, Control Plan, work-station risk analysis.
* Full UK Driving License.
