Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Engagement and Pastoral Co-Ordinator to join our team. In this role, you will support the Engagement and Pastoral Co-Ordinator in fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages student engagement, emotional well-being, and academic success. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to implement strategies that address individual needs and promote positive outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Engagement and Pastoral Co-Ordinator in developing and implementing engagement strategies.
Provide pastoral care and support to students, addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Assist in the creation and implementation of individualized support plans for students.
Work closely with teaching staff to monitor student progress and adjust support plans as necessary.
Help coordinate communication between the school, families, and external agencies.
Participate in organizing activities that promote social skills, self-esteem, and resilience.
Support students in developing positive relationships with peers and staff.
Assist in managing and resolving conflicts and behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and interventions.
Qualifications:
Relevant experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral capacity.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in a Pupil Referral Unit.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
Desirable:
A degree or qualification in education, social work, or a related field.
Experience in behavior management and conflict resolution.
Training in mental health first aid or similar support qualifications.
Familiarity with local support services and agencies.
