DV Cleared Automation Tester

Description:

DV Cleared Automation Tester 6 months+- £500-£585 per day - Fulltime onsite

We have an opportunity for a senior automation tester to work with one of our software development teams to provide quality assurance in an agile development environment to execute all levels of QA tests including system, integrations and regression. You'll get to work in a team working on cutting edge projects within our Defence business, on work that has a positive impact on the protection of the UK and lead us into automation testing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Test Planning and Design:

Collaborate with the team to understand project requirements and create comprehensive test plans.
Design and develop automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.

* Test Automation:

Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts.
Integrate automated tests with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

* Test Execution and Reporting:

Execute automated test scripts and analyse test results to identify defects and ensure software quality.
Document and report defects, providing detailed steps to reproduce and tracking them to resolution.

* Test Artefacts Production:

Produce and maintain high-quality test artefacts including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
Ensure all test artefacts are well-documented, version-controlled, and easily accessible for the QA team and other stakeholders.

* Test Maintenance:

Update and maintain automated test scripts to reflect changes in the application.
Ensure the automation test suite is robust and scalable.

* Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with developers to understand code changes and their impact on automated tests.
Participate in agile/scrum meetings, providing input on test planning and execution.
Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to stakeholders.

All successful applicants must hold, or be eligible & willing to obtain, UK Security Clearance HLC level in the future with a minimum of SC on application.

Required Skills

Familiarity with automation methodologies, such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with experience in Ansible or equivalent automation tools (e.g., Terraform)
Experience with CI/CD tools (eg., Gitlab)
Software development skills. E.g., JAVA, C#, and an understanding of software development best practices
Ability to identify, analyse, and devise solutions to business and technical information technology problems
Ability to interact with customers regarding business and technical information technology needs
Good communication skills, including excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
Ability to analyse problems, detect root causes and resolve issues effectively using latest quality improvement tools and techniques
Excellent time management, planning, organisation, and prioritisation
