DT Technician | Tottenham | Up to £160 Per Day
Location: Tottenham, North London
Pay: Up to £160 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, Full-time
Are you an experienced, all-rounded DT Technician looking for a long-term role where you can become a valued part of a school and make a genuine difference to students?
We are working with a large, diverse and inclusive secondary school in Tottenham that places a strong emphasis on creating opportunities for its students and helping them achieve their potential.
The school is looking for an experienced DT Technician to join its Design & Technology department on a long-term basis. This is more than simply preparing equipment. You will play an important role in ensuring students have access to safe, engaging and well-prepared practical lessons where they can develop their creativity, confidence and practical skills.
The Role
* Supporting across the Design & Technology department, including Resistant Materials and Graphics
* Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons
* Setting up and maintaining workshop equipment and machinery
* Working closely with DT teachers to ensure practical lessons run effectively
* Helping create an organised, engaging and safe workshop environment for students
* Preparing materials for student projects and coursework
* Managing tools, equipment, materials and stock
* Carrying out basic maintenance and identifying equipment requiring repair
* Supporting students appropriately during practical activities
* Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed across practical areas
About You
We are looking for someone who enjoys practical work but also understands the importance of their role within a school.
You will ideally have:
* Previous DT Technician, workshop or similar technical experience
* An all-rounded practical knowledge of Design & Technology
* Experience with Resistant Materials and Graphics
* Confidence using workshop tools, equipment and machinery
* A good understanding of workshop health and safety
* Strong organisation and attention to detail
* A positive approach to working around young people
* Previous school experience is desirable
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new DBS
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to become part of a busy school community and a department where practical learning can have a real impact on students.
For some young people, practical subjects are where they find their confidence and discover skills they may not demonstrate elsewhere in school. As the DT Technician, you will help make those lessons possible by ensuring teachers and students have the right equipment, materials and environment to succeed.
The school is looking for someone who wants to become part of the department rather than simply come in and complete a list of tasks.
What’s On Offer
* Pay up to £160 per day
* ASAP start
* Long-term position
* Full-time hours
* Supportive and inclusive secondary school
* Varied role across the DT department
* Opportunity to make a genuine contribution to students’ learning and development
If you are an experienced, all-rounded DT Technician who takes pride in creating a safe and engaging practical environment for students, we would like to hear from you
