A well-established secondary school is looking to appoint a skilled and reliable DT Technician to join their Design & Technology department immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills who enjoys working in an educational environment and supporting both teachers and students in delivering engaging, practical DT lessons.

The Role

As a DT Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the Design & Technology department.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons
Supporting teachers with the preparation and delivery of practical activities
Maintaining and organising workshops, tools and equipment
Ensuring equipment is safe, clean and ready for use
Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs where appropriate
Supporting students and staff with practical resources
Managing stock and ordering materials when required
Ensuring all workshop and equipment safety procedures are followed
Maintaining a safe and organised working environmentAbout You

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience working as a DT Technician, workshop technician or in a relevant practical environment
Have strong practical and technical skills
Hold relevant health & safety qualifications
Have a strong understanding of workshop safety and safe working practices
Be confident working with a range of tools, machinery and materials
Be organised, reliable and able to work independently
Have good communication skills and enjoy working with young people
Be committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safetyExperience within a secondary school would be advantageous, but candidates with relevant practical and technical experience will also be considered.
