DT Teacher - PRU/SEMH Provision - Eccles
Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Paid to Scale
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and resilient Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / SEMH provision in Eccles on a full-time basis from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT specialist who is committed to supporting young people who face social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students re-engage with education through practical, creative and vocational learning.
The Role
Deliver engaging Design Technology lessons to small class groups.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs.
Create a positive, structured and supportive learning environment.
Manage behaviour effectively and build strong relationships with students.
Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders to promote student progress and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
Previous experience within a PRU, SEMH setting, alternative provision or working with challenging behaviour is desirable.
Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing approach.
A commitment to raising aspirations and outcomes for vulnerable young people.
