Driver - Friday to Sunday
LOCATION: Chadderton, Greater Manchester
HOURS: Friday to Sunday - 07.00 to 19.00
1/2 hour unpaid break per shift
Friday hourly rate £13.00
Saturday and Sunday hourly rate £14.80
34.5 hours per week / £24,518 per annum
REQUIREMENTS An experienced driver with some engineering knowledge who has the ability to understand requirements being expressed by mechanical engineers. The successful applicant will also have:
* Full clean driving license (no disqualifications / never been refused insurance)
* FLT licence (counterbalance)
* Experience operating lifting equipment (specific training will be provided on our equipment but previous safe use of lifting equipment would be preferable)
* Customer service experience or experience in a customer-facing role
* Excellent listening skills and clear handwriting
* Be presentable with a professional approach
* Good geographical knowledge of North West region (sat navs are provided however good geographical knowledge is required)
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE DRIVER
Customer Collections & Deliveries
* Collect jobs from customer sites
* Liaise with engineers at customer sites, taking details given by the engineer regarding job requirements and documenting on our enquiry form.
* Briefing job requirements to the Manager/Supervisor on shift.
* Delivering completed jobs to customers ensuring goods receipt notes are completed.
* Collecting materials and jobs from suppliers.
Loading & Unloading
* Loading and unloading jobs/materials safely ensuring all loads are correctly secured in vehicles and when unloaded. Utilise lifting aids as required.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations of the business and specifically in relation to driving and manual handling.
Vehicle Maintenance
* Complete daily vehicle checks prior to the start of shift, any defects recorded and reported immediately to the Transport Manager.
* Complete weekly vehicle inspection checks on all company vehicles (carried out over the weekend).
* General vehicle maintenance and cleaning of company vehicles (carried out over the weekend).
Workshop Duties
* General workshop cleaning and maintenance of the loading bay areas at the weekends to ensure the area remains safe and tidy.
* Any supporting duties as instructed by the Manager/Supervisor on shift
