Domestic Gas Engineer

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
A Domestic Gas Engineer is required to carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs across domestic social housing properties in Brockley, with occasional cover required across Myatt's Field and Canning Town. The role will involve annual boiler servicing, landlord gas safety inspections, diagnosing heating and hot water faults, and completing repairs to domestic heating systems. Candidates should have proven experience in domestic gas servicing, breakdown fault finding and repairs, with previous social housing or domestic residential experience essential.
Daily responsibilities:
Carrying out annual boiler servicing and landlord gas safety inspections across domestic social housing properties
Diagnosing heating and hot water faults and carrying out effective repairs
Completing repairs to boilers, heating controls, pumps, motorised valves, radiators, thermostats and associated heating system components
Attending planned maintenance appointments and reactive breakdowns, ensuring a first-time fix wherever possible
Ensuring all gas appliances and heating systems are safe, compliant and operating efficiently in accordance with Gas Safe regulations
Accurately recording work completed, parts used and follow-up actions using company systems
Identifying and reporting additional works or safety concerns where required
Participating in a 1-in-4 on-call rota
Requirements of a Domestic Gas Engineer:
Must hold valid domestic ACS gas qualifications with at least one year remaining before renewal
Must have a full UK driving licence, with a maximum of 6 penalty points and no driving ban within the past 5 years
Must have proven experience carrying out domestic gas servicing, breakdown fault finding and repairs
Must have previous social housing or domestic residential experience
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to pass a satisfactory Basic DBS check
Benefits for the Domestic Gas Engineer:
Salary of up to £43,000 basic per annum
£75 on-call standby allowance
Overtime paid per call-out for a minimum of 2 hours at time and a half, or double time on Sundays
