Domestic Couple – Housekeeper and Gardener
Near Stow on the Wold
£70,000 per annum
* 2 Bedroom Cottage included
* 20 Days Annual Leave
The Burford Recruitment Company are seeking an experienced and dedicated domestic couple to join our client’s team at a prestigious private estate. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record of longevity and excellence in the private service industry. This role requires a high level of expertise, commitment, and attention to detail in both gardening and housekeeping duties.
Gardener’s Role
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the Head Gardener to maintain the garden to a high horticultural standard.
* Oversee the general maintenance of the garden, including mowing, weeding, hedge cutting, and border maintenance.
* Care for the garden’s diverse areas, including the Walled Garden, Greenhouses, Plant Nursery, Formal Lawns, Arboretum, Rose Garden, Formal Gardens, Hot Borders, Stream Gardens, Woodland Gardens, Topiary, Rock Garden, and Heather Garden.
Qualifications:
* A RHS horticultural qualification is required.
* Spray certificates PA1/PA6 are required.
* Chainsaw certification is an advantage.
Housekeeper’s Role
Responsibilities:
* Liaise effectively with the Head Housekeeper.
* Perform all aspects of housekeeping, including laundry and ironing, to a high standard.
* Undertake both deep cleaning and routine cleaning tasks.
* Work as part of the housekeeping team and independently as needed.
* Follow instructions and house manuals meticulously.
* Ensure the main residence and guest accommodation are immaculate and welcoming at all times.
* Assist in receiving and unloading weekly shopping and replenishing household supplies.
* Report room breakages and deficiencies to the Head Housekeeper.
* Supervise contractors in family areas when requested.
* Ensure all bedrooms and internal areas are correctly stocked and clean.
