Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Document Controller to join a busy construction project team. Working closely with the Site, Project and Contracts Management teams, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, control and distribution of project documentation and records.

This is a hands-on site-based role, suited to someone who is highly organised, confident using IT systems and able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate all activities relating to the project Document Control process.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and hard-copy records.

* Manage the issue, receipt and distribution of construction drawings, documents and correspondence.

* Maintain registers, trackers and databases, ensuring information is accurate and easily accessible.

* Manage superseded documentation and maintain a clear audit trail of document revisions and distribution.

* Ensure the latest approved drawings and documents are issued to the relevant site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

* Maintain project communication records, including Transmittals, Site Instructions and RFIs.

* Support the management of plant, equipment and material records, including site deliveries.

* Generate reports and document exports for review by the project team.

* Assist with the digitisation and archiving of physical site records.

* Support general site administration, including site inductions and new starter paperwork.

* Assist with the collation and maintenance of HSE documentation and weekly returns.

* Maintain project files and control logs as required.

* Issue and manage weekly timesheets with input from the site management team.

* Ensure confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately and in line with GDPR requirements.

* Support general office and site administration, maintaining a well-organised working environment.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working as a Document Controller within construction.

* Experience working on major construction, infrastructure, rail or similar projects would be advantageous.

* Strong IT skills and confidence working with large volumes of information and data.

* Experience using a Common Data Environment (CDE), such as Aconex, Asite, Viewpoint 4Projects, BIM 360, Conject or Business Collaborator.

* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

* Experience using spreadsheets, databases and PDF editing software.

* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

* A strong eye for detail and the ability to maintain clear, accurate records.

* The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a busy site environment.

* A flexible and adaptable approach to working, with the ability to respond to changing project requirements.

* Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to take initiative when dealing with issues.
