DIVISIONAL COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Up to £160,000 Basic Plus Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension , Private Medical

UK t/over £470Million forming part of a Global Business at £700 Million. Key sectors Data, Tech, Food, Industrial, Pharma, Logistics & Distribution. Best described as dynamic & client facing.

Divisional Commercial Manager taking full P&L responsibility for a sector within the UK & Irish Market (Main Contractor). This role has a plan to step up into a UK Commercial Director over the next 18-20 Months.

Come in, make a positive impact with the team , supply chain and clients. This role is a 10 Year commitment as they want someone that can grow & succeed within the senior management team in the UK Head Office 15 Minute’s drive from Uxbridge – Middlesex (UB10).

Dotted line to the Global Commercial Director, Chief Operating Officer & Pre-Construction Director. This role will have extensive travel to meet not only project needs but client needs. Some weeks you will be on the road 3 days and others you won’t. Flexibility being

* Degree Educated – Quantity Surveying

* Strong commercial, contractual & legal awareness

* Happy to be hands on and understanding urgency . Times to delegate and times to do!

* Travel – It will be regular, nature of the role and business. You won’t change this so must be comfortable that its part of the job

* If you can make decisions, take accountability, protect decisions and stand by them

* Develop & mentor Quantity Surveyors (Can you spot RAW Talent)

Discussion with the client : It’s not just CVR’s Tim it’s about picking up on potential issues before they occur. Have we let all the sub-contract packages, is there any movement within the variations account, is cost versus actual on point. Is the team working well with Operations team and is everyone on the same page.

Are we heading into a dispute and will the project give us the % the job was tendered at. It’s very much about lifting up the bonnet and understanding all working parts of the project and seeing issues before they manifest.

Yes this person will understand the numbers but they have to have meaningful conversations with the Project Directors & Commercial Managers to ensure we have happy clients and reach our contractual obligations.

Having the people skills to call a client or sub-contractor and have a conversation opposed to just issuing notices is key. Fundamentally this job is about people and getting everyone driving in the same direction.
