Description:

Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Dispatch Team Leader.

Shifts:

Monday to Friday only, starting initially on a 2 week rota of mornings and afternoons and nights (Week 1: 6am - 2pm, Week 2: 2pm - 10pm)
This role will change to a "223" shift pattern by the end of 2024 including a night shift due to an internal uplift and new shift starting - this will go as follows: 2 days in, 2 days off, 3 days in, 2 days off, 2 days in, 3 days off etc. These shifts will be 12 hour shifts: Week 1 - 6.00am to 6.00pm and Week 2: of 6.00pm to 6.00am.The successful candidate will have experience of managing a team of Dispatch/ Stores Operatives, managing their performance, addressing performance issues, initiating any additional coaching/ training needed to hit productivity targets alongside providing 121's, highlighting good work as well. You will perform inductions for new starters, liaising frequently with Production teams and Logistics suppliers to streamline the dispatch process, ensuring delivery and quality targets are met. You will ensure that all orders are shipped OTIF to the expected standards, maintaining Health and Safety procedures within the team, supporting the Logistics Manager in all KPI's and data reporting.

Salary: Up to £36,000 plus yearly bonus, please see details below:
Starting basic rates: Mornings: £15.23, Afternoons: £16.75, Nights £19.79. Once nightshifts kick in for the 3 shift pattern on month 2 or 3 you will be on = £35.824. Once the 223 shift pattern begins, you will be on £36,420 plus the yearly 10% bonus starting at £3642 in the first year - total salary will be £40,062.

Ensure that all vehicles are loaded safely and to the expected high standard, and the
RDD's are met, and all quality paperwork, packaging and load photos is adhered to.
Interface with Haulage partners and transport planners to ensure vehicles arrive on time or to resolve issues as required
Continuously drive the team to maximise output
Instil cultural change to embrace ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
Minimise labour costs when possible whilst achieving dispatch needs
Liaise with other dispatch Team Leaders to organise correct utilisation of manning within the business as a whole
Ensure operator training is carried out when needed and sign off completed on time.
Generate and implement initiatives that drive improvements
Ensure housekeeping is maintained and work areas are clean and free of debris
Ensure that the Toolbox talks are explained and signed off by respective persons as required
Working with the team to ensure all data reports and KPI's are completed to drive efficiencies.
Conduct Finished goods stocks checks and make sure they are maintained
Manager dispatch team in relation to HR related activities i.e. holidays / absence / lateness
Conduct investigations and disciplinaries as and when required
Any other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager / supervisor
Ensure all quality issues are delt with and reported
Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of non-compliance immediatelyEssential Experience/Qualifications

Experience within a Dispatch/ Stores or Warehouse Supervisory/ Team Leader or Management level role
Experience of working logistics suppliers
Experience of monitoring team productivity and conduction performance reviews
Ability to instil positive health and safety culture
Experience of providing training to staff members as well as coaching new starters
Proven ability to manage holidays/ sickness/ absence
Confident to liaise with internal department heads to streamline processes
The ability to solve problems and make key decisions under pressure, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Computer literate, able to update internal systems and use Microsoft Office packages including Word and Outlook, reporting experience highly beneficial on figures and productivity
