Description:
We are looking for an experienced Despatch Team Leader to join a Global Client based in Bristol.
The role holder will be a senior despatch crew member responsible for setting work priorities on a day-to-day basis. The Team Leader liaises with customers (internal), hauliers and production staff to maintain service to the customer and ensures service and
quality are adhered to throughout the process.
Duties
To assist the Logistics & Warehousing Manager to meet department targets
Co-Ordination of the Fork-Lift Truck Crew
Control of incoming traffic for both Goods in and Despatch
Ensure all crew members follow H&S rules and hygiene, at all times
Site Security; Closing down of the department at the end of the working shift
Liaise with production regarding any stock discrepancies
Make sure all products are picked on time, and in accordance with quality
requirements
Allocate Fork-Lift truck operators to pick, load and raise the paperwork duties
Making sure that vehicle loading, and offloading is carried out accurately
Ensure paperwork is correctly completed and invoice raised within 24 hours
Receive returns from customer & sub-contractor, checking incoming quantities
& labels before transferring to the specified area
Receiving of incoming pallets & packing materials and transfer to the designated
storage areas of the factory
Work with Traffic Coordinator to make sure all deliveries are fulfilled and
delivered on time.
Being able to cover Traffic Coordinator responsibilities.
Control of Chep pallet movements/stock checking
Carry out regular stock checks, reporting all discrepancies to the department
manager
Housekeeping of all finished goods warehouse areas, loading bays and despatch
platforms: this is to ensure compliance with H & S, 5S, Lean and other
appropriate initiatives.
Being able to work under pressure
Organising waste collection
Ideal candidate will have
Must be comfortable working in a factory environment.
Some level of previous direct reporting would be advantageous.
A good level of education required, including spoken and written English
Exposure to a Despatch environment would be highly advantageous
Good PC skills, especially MS Excel
Being able to operate forklift
Excellent communication skills
Organizational and time-management skills
Decision-making skills
Working hours:
Shift 6am-2pm and 2pm -10pm
