Special Works Director

Main Contractor - Prime Residential

West & Central London

£120,000 - £130,000 + benefits and bonuses

Boasting an impressive track record of unique projects developed over the last 30 years, this main contractor work with industry-leading architects, engineers, interior designers, and highly skilled tradespeople on a project portfolio ranging from the UK's most recognisable listed attractions to cutting-edge contemporary structures.

They are now looking for a Special Works Director to join the SLT them on a permanent basis. The main contracting division of the company deliver include new build, heavy and structural refurbishments, and fit out to high net worth individuals and corporations. This role is to lead the Special Works division that will pick up smaller projects from their existing client base and new clients alike.

The Opportunity

Special Works Division manages small value projects, sub £3m, maintenance works and specialist projects with ultra high spec finishes. This role will report directly to the Managing Director and mean you have full P&L responsibility for the business unit. They are seeking a dynamic character with extensive experience in prime residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

Division Setup and Strategy:

Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the Special Works Division.

Establish operational processes, quality standards, and performance metrics.

Define the division's service offerings, ensuring alignment with market demand and company objectives.

Project Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of special works projects.

Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Implement rigorous project management methodologies to track progress and address any issues promptly.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of site managers, site supervisors, and skilled tradespeople. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing support and development opportunities.

Client Relations:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction. Develop strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, architects, designers, and other stakeholders.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage the division's budget, ensuring financial targets are met. Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for senior management. Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Business Development:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the division's project portfolio.

Assist in the development of marketing strategies and promotional activities to attract high-value clients. Participate in industry events and network to enhance the division's profile.
