An outstanding opportunity to join Eastern Multi Academy Trust as Director of People. It is an exciting time to join with well laid plans for expansion.

You will join the Executive Leadership Team as Director of People with ownership of the people agenda across the Trust and it’s 12 school settings. Ably supported by a team of six, you will translate the Trusts business plan into a people roadmap and execute accordingly.

Key focus areas:

* Redesign policies and processes – total freedom to redesign the policies and processes creating simple, easy to use standard operating processes. Simplify, and demystify to improve clarity and communication across the trust.

* Systemisation – identify and implementation of a new HR IS system that will deliver self service capability to empower your colleagues to manage and maintain their own people records. You will project manage the implementation and adoption of the system.

* Recruitment and retention – Eastern MAT is a great place to work! Create a brilliant employee experience, and shout about it to improve retention.

* Strategic advisor to the Executive and Board of Governors - ready with expert advice to mitigate any risk and build compliance. Conditioned to ask why before you say yes.

The role is complex to deliver, and you will need to win sponsorship for all People initiatives through advocacy and influence. You must be able to foster brilliant working relationships throughout the schools and central functions – listen, coach, and empower, and deliver as needed.

Although not essential, previous experience in education is preferred. However, you must have a pedigree in delivering the HR Strategy in a previous role and be ready with multiple examples of added value across the employee life cycle.

You must be able to travel to King’s Lynn every Monday and then have the flexibility to go where you will be most productive. It is expected that you would be out and about two or three days pw to be most effective in your role, with the balance delivered remotely.

Salary is generous and benefits including LGPS and 33 days holiday plus statutory.

First stage interview will take place over Teams, with an assessment centre being held at the end of April, date to be confirmed which will take place over the whole day. For those invited to attend the assessment centre you will be required to complete an application form beforehand.
