Senior Leadership within Healthcare for the Justice system

Based From Home - National Remit

Compass Associates are proud to be exclusively working with a leading, respected and established provider of healthcare in the Primary, Secondary and Justice healthcare sectors in search for a Director of Nursing & Quality.

As an organisation are committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and cost-effective healthcare within the Justice sector. They strive to continuously improve their services, ensuring they meet the needs of a complex patient group through innovative and compassionate care.

As the Director of Nursing and Quality, you will provide strategic nursing leadership and oversee the Quality, Governance and Nursing Leadership within the Justice service line. Reporting to the National Medical Director and subsequently Service Director, you will ensure high professional standards across their services. You will have three direct line reports, with 3 leaders of their quality and nursing leadership as well as a strategic overview, overseeing the large scale of Nursing and Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the Nursing strategy for Health in Justice, driving high standards and continuous quality improvement.

* Quality Governance: Ensure compliance with internal and external expectations, leading quality governance throughout the Health in Justice service line.

* Professional Standards: Promote best practices, clinical supervision, and evidence-based care, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.

* Stakeholder Management: Manage key relationships with NHS England, CQC, NMC, PPO, and other stakeholders.

* Incident Response: Proactively manage serious incidents and potential hazards, enhancing the culture and processes within incident reporting.

* Workforce Management: Lead and develop the nursing workforce, ensuring a skill mix that meets national standards and the organisation’s needs.

* Travel Requirements: Expectation to be on the road 2/3 days a week, with meetings occurring in across the country in the midlands and London regularl

Candidate Profile:

* Extensive experience in senior nursing leadership, preferably within the prison system.

* Clinical Leader with NMC / HCPC Pins and active and clear license to practice. Preferably a Nurse.

* History of working at Director of Nursing, Chief Nurse, Director of Quality, Senior Commissioning Leader and similar level experience

* Strong professional standards, resilience, and excellent written communication skills

* Background in quality, investigations, safeguarding and communication.

* Tolerance to risk, high resilience, and the ability to handle the challenging nature of incidents within prisons.

* Minimum three years’ experience in a management position with line and budgetary responsibility for teams

* Experience of developing and nurturing staff, recruitment & succession planning

* Experience of managing professional development and professional conduct issues

* Experience in leading clinical developments/ change in primary care &/or nursing practice

* Experience of working to improve patient experience within the primary care environment

* Experience in leading on quality, standards of care, clinical audit, benchmarking and clinical improvements

* Management of complaints and incidents and implementation of subsequent learning

Salary:

£85,000 - £100,000 per annum (Depending upon Experience)+ £6,000 Car allowance
