Director of Cost Management

A leading multidisciplinary property consultancy is seeking a Director of Cost Consultancy to strengthen their London leadership team. The successful Director of Cost Consultancy will oversee cost management commissions across residential, housing-led regeneration and wider public-sector property projects.

The Director of Cost Consultancy will combine project leadership with team management, client development and commercial strategy. Working closely with senior stakeholders, the Director of Cost Consultancy will ensure commissions are delivered to a high standard while identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships and secure new work.

This opportunity would suit an established Director of Cost Consultancy or senior Associate Director ready to take the next step. The Director of Cost Consultancy will have genuine influence over the direction of the cost management service, supporting team growth while maintaining strong relationships with clients across the London property market.

Director of Cost Consultancy - Key Responsibilities:

Leading major cost management commissions from feasibility through to final account

Providing strategic cost, procurement and commercial advice to clients

Managing senior client relationships and acting as a trusted commercial adviser

Overseeing project performance, profitability and service quality

Leading and developing Quantity Surveying teams

Supporting recruitment, mentoring and professional development

Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to bids and fee proposals

Developing relationships across residential, regeneration and public-sector markets

Reviewing cost plans, tender documentation and commercial reporting

Working alongside other consultancy disciplines to deliver coordinated client solutions

Director of Cost Consultancy - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline

MRICS qualified, with significant post-chartership experience

Strong UK consultancy / PQS background

Proven experience leading major residential or regeneration projects

Established client-facing and business development capability

Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, procurement and cost management

Experience managing and developing Quantity Surveying teams

Commercially astute with responsibility for fees, profitability and project performance

Confident operating with senior clients and stakeholders

In Return:

£95,000 - £110,000 per annum

London-based senior leadership position

Significant influence over the cost consultancy service
