The Role:
As the Director of Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in launching and leading our client’s full-service accountancy division, specialising in the property sector. This role demands a combination of strategic vision and practical expertise, including:
* Spearheading client outsourcing and financial setup.
* Overseeing data migration to our cutting-edge platforms.
* Managing comprehensive financial statements and reporting.
* Managing all aspects of tax, VAT, and HMRC returns.
* Conducting thorough accountant’s reviews of client money accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the General Manager to kick-start a practice from the ground up.
* Lead and expand their talented team, aiming for a staff of 20-30 in Brighton within 3-5 years.
* Develop and implement an Accountants Report of Client Money Accounts.
* Drive growth by recruiting top talent and building a robust team.
* Venture into supporting US clients with exceptional bookkeeping services.
What You Bring:
* A keen interest in software, proptech, and innovative solutions in accounting.
* Proven managerial prowess in an accountancy firm, with ACCA or ACA qualifications.
* Extensive experience serving multiple clients, including preparing accounts and HMRC returns.
* Proficiency in Xero, with a strong advocacy for its benefits.
* Desirable experience with property clients, such as Letting Agents and Professional Landlords with significant portfolios.
