Description:
We are seeking a skilled Dimensional Controller / Surveyor to join our client's team in Wallsend. The Dimensional Controller / Surveyor position requires expertise in using theodolites and a recognised qualification to City & Guilds standard or equivalent, or five years' experience in structural/civil dimensional surveying.
Hours of work are Monday-Thursday, (Apply online only)hrs & Friday hrs.Rate of pay is £23.50 for all hours worked and approved.
Responsibilities:
-Carry out surveys of fabrications to ensure tolerances are achieved or identify out-of-tolerance issues.
-Assist in preparing procedures for dimensional control and setting out.
-Coordinate and layout survey points and stations.
-Liaise with the Drawing Office to prepare drawings for establishing datums and identifying global/local tolerances.
-Assist construction personnel with setup, marking out, and layout of assemblies being fabricated and erected.
-Conduct surveys as required by quality control plans according to procedures.
-Support welding/fabrication inspectors in pre-weld fit-up inspections to ensure welding procedure tolerances are met.
-Maintain dimensional control logbook and issue weekly summary reports to Project Compliance Coordinators.
-Prepare and issue reports identifying "as-built" dimensions and out-of-tolerance situations.
-Perform periodic equipment calibration checks for dimensional control and specified site/construction equipment.
-Ensure familiarity with dimensional tolerance requirements as per Scope of Work, Contract Specifications, National/International Standards, drawings, and procedures.
-Identify and address problems early to prevent rework, concessions, and excessive quality issues.
-Document deficiencies revealed during inspections and follow up on their resolution.
- Uphold policies regarding Quality, Health, Safety, and the Environment.
Qualifications:
- Recognised qualification to City & Guilds standard or equivalent
- Minimum of five years' experience in structural/civil dimensional surveying
- Proficient in using theodolites
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
