Digital Technology Engineer
Location: Staffordshire Office
Salary: £40,000 – 50,000 / year
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Our client is currently extremely busy with a large order book and can offer excellent career prospects.
The client currently operations within the gas supply industry and in recent years has become fully involved in waste to energy through biogas production and more recently in Hydrogen substitution technology.
This role is based in the glorious Staffordshire countryside close to the Shropshire boarder and can boast an excellent up to date facility and working environment. As a company they really value their staff and working as a team and do offer several additional benefits to their employees.

What is the role?
As a Digital Technology Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in reshaping the landscape of the gas sector while advancing your own professional journey. This brand-new department is at the forefront of driving change in the operational technology space.
Responsibilities
* Aid in the development of the latest technology, standards, and best practices into OT equipment.
* Carry out cybersecurity threat assessments in line with IEC 62443 or equivalent.
* Complete asset vulnerabilities identification activities.
* Research and understand the latest advancements in IT and network technologies.
* Complete R&D activities aligned to the Digital Technology Division's 4 key market areas:
* OT Cyber Security
* Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)
* Artificial Intelligence (AI)
* Big Data Analytics
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the IT and Software Operational Technology market.
* Familiarity with high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, NodeJS).
* Familiarity with web development languages (e.g., PHP, JavaScript, HTML).
* Familiarity with IEC 61131 programming languages.
* Familiarity with PLC programming IDEs such as RSLogix 5000, GX Developer, Codesys, and TIA Portal.
* Familiarity with databases such as SQL.
* Familiarity with database integration for web services.
* Understanding of IoT devices protocols such as MQTT, AMQP, CoAP, etc.
* Familiarity with client-server architecture.

Salary banding for this role is £40,000 - £50,000 D.O.E.
