Harvey Nash are recruiting a Site Reliability Engineer with strong ability in Azure (ideally Azure IOT) on behalf of our rapidly growing start-up client in Edinburgh, they really are one to watch. Our client are keen to continuously improve themselves, their processes and architectures in order to continuously improve their products to deliver more value to their clients. To give you an idea of the setup, the software architecture is Cloud based (Azure IoT Hub with an edge device running Azure IoT Edge), the use .Net Core (both for Edge modules and Application backend), the frontend is Angular. There are lots of industry standard protocols integrated including DALI, MODBus and Thread into a single smart application. Our client wants to ensure they're using cutting edge technology and leveraging Azure Services and are looking for DevOps or SRE's to join their Agile team and create the function that will deploy, manage and monitor the cloud based application and edge device modules that will allow their users to manage and control their own smart-space solution. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will; Automate everything; Document everything Enhance and maintain a CI and CD pipeline Deploy, monitor and manage multiple cloud software instances Support edge devices including software release and upgrade Conduct 3rd line support investigations Improve the infrastructure architecture Support third party contract teams to access and enhance the software Support feature development and QA process Integrate with customers other Building Management Systems Be on the out of hours emergency roster Technically ability to include; Azure expert across multiple services (eg Azure IoT Hub/Edge, Cosmos DB, Power BI) Good containerisation experience (Docker) Strong background of modern CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code skills including code review Monitoring, alerting and logging experience Basic Skills - git, linux, networking, backups etc Excellent communication skills University degree in computer related subject or industry equivalent And a bonus would be to have; Experience with edge computing and communications especially Azure IoT Hub Experience with Azure AD Cloud operation cost analysis and control Basic O365, SharePoint and One Drive - not part of the job but useful to have This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing start-up at a very exciting time.
