Job Role: Development Technician
Location: Manchester
Shift: Days Only
Salary: £28,000 Per Annum

Metalis is working in partnership with a specialist manufacturing company in Manchester who due to continuous growth are looking to hire a skilled Development Technician on a permanent contract.

Job Duties:

Close tolerance trimming using hand tools for FAS and 5 Axis teaching aid
To dress and mount vac form tooling and do maintenance as required
Perform casting operations with a range of materials, including resins
Working with honeycomb coring, cleaning and filling promoting industry best practice methods within the engineering team
Fitting and bonding
Surface finishing
To assist, learn and assemble our technical products to the highest standard
Working from engineering drawings and work instructions, ensuring a high calibre of quality is followed at all times
To produce all seat plastics components to the highest quality standard, including but not restricted to the following processes (scraping, tool making, Vacuum forming, Trimming, Gluing)
To work within the COSHH guidelines and ensure correct wearing of appropriate PPE
To ensure the workshop is maintained to a safe standard in accordance with company EH&S policies/procedures
Regularly maintain equipment within TPM guidelines and provide a safe working operation
To keep all areas clean and tidy in accordance with regular 5S housekeeping schedule
To attend any training programs
To adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
To make management aware of any issues that may affect the operations
To drive Company vehicle for collection/deliveries as and when requiredJob Requirements:

Hands on and a can-do attitude
Manual Dexterity
Materials or Engineering knowledge desirable but not essential
Operate hand and power tools and others
Trimming experience
Basic joinery desirable but not essential
High attention to detail
Demonstrate previous experience of using their own initiative
Capable of reading and understanding Standard Measuring Equipment SME
Familiar with material traceability and equipment calibration requirements
Able to work flexibly and to achieve timescales/targets
Flexible towards hours of work and carry out overtime during busy periods
Flexible towards shift patterns as shifts may change to suit business operational requirements including night shift.
Good team worker and interpersonal skills to liaise closely with other departmentsSalary & Shift:

40 Hour working week
Monday to Friday, days only
£28,000 Per Annum (£13.50ph)
