Description:

Howdens Joinery are looking for a Development Manager to drive innovation and efficiency in our digital projects based in our office in Raunds, Northamptonshire with some home working.

We are looking for an Agile advocate who can support us and lead the way into Agile ways of working. As a Development Manager for external teams you will oversee outsourced development teams, ensuring efficiency in development cycles, effective intervention strategies, and innovation in coaching methods.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Development, you'll also ensure seamless collaboration, timely delivery, and exceptional quality in our projects. Acting as a software coach we are looking for an influencer, someone who is able to foster strong partnerships with external vendors and provide leadership to both internal and external teams.

What you will do in your role as a Development Manager& Agile Coach

Driving improvement in development cycle times and efficiency through the Agile ways of working.
Continue to lead us on our Agile journey and support and influence the internal teams.
Utilising coaching techniques to enhance team skills and performance.
Managing external development teams to meet project deliverables and quality standards.
Fostering strong relationships with external partners, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Providing leadership and direction to both internal and external teams, ensuring cohesion.
Collaborating with legal and financial teams to finalise contracts and Statements of Work.
What do we need from you?

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or relevant experience.
Extensive experience in development management, with a focus on outsourced teams.
Expertise in software development processes in particular agile methodologies, and agile coaching techniques.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate technical requirements into understandable language.
Passion for driving digital innovation and excellence.
