Job Purpose
Here at British Sugar, we are looking to develop succession for our talented team of Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialists. We are looking for someone to join our team who is curious, passionate about delivery, motivated by learning and a great collaborator. We are offering a development role where training will be provided to enable the successful applicant to:
Facilitate and portfolio manage the sites cost saving programme from ideation to control plan with a target annual saving of £1M.
Continue to drive the effectiveness of our tiered Key Performance Indicator review process and promote the use of structured problem-solving tools.
Support the site team in the application of Lean methodology, through theoretical and practical training on standard work, workplace organisation and Lean wastes.
Deliver Yellow Belt training and coach learners to the completion of yellow belt projects.
Lead business critical DMAIC projects of Lean 6 Sigma Green and Black Belt Standard.
Work closely with the site leadership team and ensure collaborative working towards shared objectives and must win battle initiatives. Support the site to close gaps in key performance metrics where required.
Inspire and influence the wider site team in all aspects of the CI process to enhance local capability, acting as the site’s SME and champion of lean and 6 Sigma, proactively deploying this expertise to support site performance.
This role is based at our Sugar Manufacturing Plant in Bury St Edmunds, reporting into the site CI Specialist.

Literate in MS suite of applications with Power BI and Power Apps development desirable
