Description:
Title: Development Chemist
I am partnered with a leading chemical manufcaturing company that are undergoing significant expansion and that are looking to recruit an experienced development chemist.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead R&D for organic synthesis and process development from laboratory to pilot plant production.
• Design, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes to improve yields, reduce costs, and eliminate inefficiencies.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Support new product introduction from research through to full-scale manufacture.
• Provide technical support to production and respond to customer or internal technical queries.
• Work in collaboration with QC analysts to support analytical testing.
• troubleshoot plant issues, and contribute to process safety and quality improvements.
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, and R&D teams to ensure smooth process transfer and implementation.
• Maintain standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, particularly when handling hazardous and reactive chemicals.
Requirements
• Life science degree in Chemistry (organic or process chemistry discipline preferred).
• industrial experience within chemicals / pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
• Proven ability to write and review SOPs, risk assessments, and technical reports. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
• Comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
