Desktop Support Engineer

Location: Oxford - Onsite

Salary: £30,000

Here at Khuda Technology, we have partnered with a global Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a highly skilled Onsite Support Specialist. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in onsite services, particularly within manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities

Deskside Support:

* Printer Support: Provide onsite support for printer issues escalated by the Managed Print Service Provider.

* First Contact: Act as the first point of contact for end-user issues, escalating to Level 3 support as necessary.

* Apple Devices: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Apple devices.

* Device Management: Manage desktop encryption, anti-virus/malware solutions, and other applications.

* Incident Management: Resolve incidents and service requests escalated by the ServiceDesk.

* Endpoint Management: Ensure all devices are compliant with endpoint configuration policies.

* Re-imaging: Wipe and re-image desktops and laptops for leavers or faulty devices.

* Security: Execute remedial actions to disable and remote wipe lost or stolen devices.

* Peripherals: Install drivers and troubleshoot connectivity to printers, scanners, and quality control gauges.

* Device Imaging: Image new laptop and desktop devices using agreed Windows 10/11 Build.

* Compliance: Adhere to client policies and remediate exceptions through follow-up with device owners.

* Troubleshooting: Work closely with infrastructure, application, and network teams to troubleshoot site issues.

* Meeting Room Support: Manage and support MS Surface Hubs, LogiTech Tap devices, and A/V equipment.

Data Centre/Server Room Support:

* Scheduled Activities: Manage scheduled power-down activities and support requests to third-party providers.

* Hands and Eyes Support: Resolve data centre issues that cannot be resolved remotely.

* Firmware Updates: Manage firmware updates to resolve incidents and maintain hardware.

* Hardware Health: Monitor hardware health using provided tools and visual inspections.

* Disposal Coordination: Coordinate the removal and secure disposal of technologies.

* Installations: Manage installations to provide power and network connectivity.

* General Hygiene: Maintain data centre cleanliness and escalate health and safety risks.

* Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and escalate risks related to heat and humidity.

* Hardware & Software: Provide onsite support, including installation, testing, and maintenance.

Technical Skills

* Devices: Proficient in installation and support of desktops, laptops (Windows and Apple devices), and peripherals (printers, scanners, quality control gauges).
