Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and skilled Design Technology Teacher to support schools in the Bolton area. As a Design Technology Teacher, you will inspire and empower students to explore their creativity, develop practical skills, and engage in innovative design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and practical Design Technology lessons, covering a range of disciplines such as product design, graphics, textiles, and resistant materials.
Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to express their ideas, experiment with materials and techniques, and develop their problem-solving skills.
Integrate design thinking principles, industry-standard software, and emerging technologies into teaching practice, preparing students for future careers in design, engineering, and related fields.
Provide hands-on instruction and demonstration in workshop environments, ensuring the safe and responsible use of tools, equipment, and materials.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, providing additional support and extension opportunities as necessary to ensure all learners reach their full potential.
Assess student progress through a combination of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development and achievement in Design Technology.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing the teaching and learning of Design Technology across the school.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, specializing in Design Technology or related field.
Relevant degree in Design, Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
Experience teaching Design Technology at the secondary level is preferred.
Strong subject knowledge and passion for design education.
Proficiency in design software and technologies relevant to the field (e.g., CAD/CAM, Adobe Creative Suite).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Commitment to staying abreast of developments in the field of design and technology education and integrating emerging trends and technologies into teaching practice.
