A large secondary school in Ealing are currently looking to appoint a qualified Design and Technology teacher to teach resistant materials and product design for the new academic year

The Role

This role is a full-time teaching position in the school’s Design and Technology department. You will be teaching mixed ability classes across both KS3 and KS4. Year 7 and year 8 classes follow a broad introduction to all Design and Technology subjects and your focus in these year groups will be to teach basic skills in wood work. From year 9, pupils opt to either complete BTEC Design and Technology or GCSE Product Design. You will be teaching across both courses again with a focus on wood work and resistant materials.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and learning, assessments and coursework towards examination. You will be joining an established team in the technology department with good support and career development opportunities.

This high achieving Church of England academy is based in Ealing and offers a broad and extended curriculum for pupils from 11 – 18 years. Rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted the school benefits from a newly built school site including bright and spacious learning spaces and state of the art facilities. The school specialises in digital learning and encourages all students to reach their potential in a modern and inspiring framework. Although a comprehensive school, students study an academic, Grammar school curriculum model with a focus on the core subjects in the morning curriculum with longer lessons in the creative subjects in the afternoon.
