Mechanical Design Manager
Cheltenham
£55,000 - £60,000 + Bonus + Benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Manager to join a growing engineering and automation business delivering bespoke machinery projects across a range of industrial sectors.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Mechanical Design team.
Oversee the design of bespoke automation and special-purpose machinery.
Manage workloads, resources and project priorities.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, controls, electrical and project teams.
Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Previous experience leading a Mechanical Design team.
Strong background in special-purpose machinery, automation or robotics.
Experience delivering projects from concept through to manufacture.
Proficient with 3D CAD, engineering drawings and BOMs.
Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to engineering excellence.
