Design Manager

Description:

Our client, a renowned consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Design Manager with a focus on civil engineering to join their team in Newcastle on a contract basis. This role involves secondments into Stantec, working on both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, and operates inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading design management for water-related projects, ensuring high-quality outputs
Coordinating with project teams to deliver design solutions that meet client requirements
Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
Providing technical oversight and guidance to design engineers
Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Conducting design reviews and making necessary adjustments to meet project objectives
Maintaining strong communication with stakeholders, including clients and contractors
Preparing detailed design documentation and reports

Job Requirements:

Experience in civil engineering within the water sector
Proven ability to manage design projects from inception to completion
Strong knowledge of design principles, industry standards, and regulations
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
